In 1996, the owners,
Rhonda, and Tim Hatfield, were looking for a high quality day care center for
their daughter. Though there were several great centers, it was difficult to
find them and when they found one that was acceptable, it had a long waiting
list. They were looking for a center that would focus more on the educational
aspects rather than just a baby sitting service. The struggle they had with
this search led them to pursue the creation of just what they
were
looking for themselves.
After 4 years of research
and preparation, construction started on a state-of-the-art child care facility.
In 2004, the building was completed, and Little Scholars opened the doors on
February 28th, 2004.
The first company was an
immediate success. Within two years, it had grown to a waiting list of 250+
children.
With the
success of the first building, a second facility was started within a 1/4 mile
of the first. The second building was completed in 2008, and opened its doors
on January 5th, 2009.
Since
then, Little Scholars has been focusing on the children. Developing their minds
through creative play, hands on activities, circle time, and other themed,
educational events.
The
owners are proud of their accomplishments. Their success is seen through the
growth of all the children who have been through the Little Scholars
program!
